When the leader is effectively leading with vision, people know where they’re going and are motivated by it :
- Interviewees walk away from interviews enthusiastic about where the company is going,
- Where does my team need to be over the 1, 3, 12, 36 months,
- What are the small list of things we need to be focus on to be successful,
- The team believes the company / team vision isn’t just possible, it’s inevitable,
- The company is able to attract talent beyond its means (company stage, funding, size etc),
- Can give a clear picture of where the business is going (beyond metrics) and why you’re going there?
- People aren’t asking “what’s the roadmap? Why are we doing this? What’s the vision?”,
- What are the trends in my industry / area that shape where we need to go,
- Team can tell you what the desired destination looks like and buy into it,
- People deeper in the organization are making decisions aligned with the vision,
- Both big V and small v vision exists in the organization.
